Good but very disposable
This is a clever little toy but don't expect it to last long. They wheel blade will give you 2-3 confident cuts, from 4 on it's sharpness starts to go and cutting can get hairy and heads can get ruined more easy.

fantastic
this is the best and easiest way to cut a port hole. don't use it when the bass drum head is mounted on the drum or you will damage the head! take it out, lay it down on a rug and the cut the hole.
but, i recommend getting the evans emad reso head. it comes with a pre cut port hole and sounds great.

Simple, Easy and Precise
This is a great product. it is simple, light and portable and I would highly recommend it to any drum user who is looking to get a great sounding kick with better mic placement.
The reason I bought this product was to be able to put a mic on the inside of the kick drum to get a better sound. The Bass Drum O's Cutter is one of the best ways, in my opinion, to get a clean and perfect circle cut in the front bass and with the moveable pin, it is easy to measure how big of a hole you want to cut. if your not sure on what size to go for or where to cut it as every place will give you a different sound, what I did was tape a washable marker or chalk to the top and trace out a few around the skin till you find a size and place that you think is the best for your kick drum. also when cutting get a large flat piece of cardboard to place your the skin so you can put as much pressure as you like on it and not damage your floor or table.
This is also a good product if you are a sound technician and you are working with a less experienced drummers I find that keeping a Bass Drum O's Cutter in your tool box is very handy for time like if you are working with a drummer and his bass drum could do with a bit of fixing up and they let you fix their kit (don't just start cutting holes in other people's drums without asking it doesn't go down well) having a Bass Drum O's Cutter with you means your not running around trying to find anything that is able to solve your problem
To further improve the acoustic of your bass drum I recommend the t.akustik Kick Drum Absorber it is one of the best products I have ever bought.

Not good.
Doesn't cut well, led me to break my reso head, even though I did it carefully.

Perfect O's every time!
I use this for all my Kick drum heads. And I have also used it to make dampeners from old heads. Stick a piece of cardboard under the head to get a nice clean cut every time!

Not bad actually!
Would be great to add in the manual to do it with the head upside down! Also the wheel could be a bit sharper imo!

The best
I used it for my DW kick drum and was amazed how easy it was to cut a hole in the head. At first i was a little bit scared that i will fail but it was simple and quick. I recommend it to everyone.

Genius
Great wee tool.
Absolute genius - a cutting wheel on a plastic arm that rotates around a spiked short peg . The peg goes into holes on the underside of the plastic arm. The further that the spike peg is from the cutting wheel - the bigger the hole in drum head.
Why would you bother with a free-hand blade and risk slicing up yourself or the bass drum head. Nice and simple to use with instructions on the inside of the card closure of the clear plastic pouch it comes in (so don’t throw out the card). Numbering on the holes for 4inch / 6inch etc would be good though.
