Very nice console pre-amp
This is a really very nice sounding console pre-amp. The gain range spans clean boost to blown-out console sound (think Beatles, Revolution). I bought this as an alternative to my Hudson Broadcast, to put in a signal chain going into a Tone King Falcon Grande. It's possible to dial-in the Airstrip to sound very similar to the Broadcast, and it would be a good substitute for many applications. Not for use with the Tone King though, because the amp is mid-heavy and the Airstrip emphasizes mids far more than the Broadcast (so I have to return it). The Airstrip cleans up well with guitar volume, is very quiet and if you want the full blown-out console sound, it achieves that without needing to put a boost before it (which both the Broadcast and Walrus 385 require). The sag and saturation are very cool. Great pedal.

Great pedal for several sounds
The airstrip is wonderful in giving that gritty console preamp sound but can get into fuzz territory quite easily. The dual power option (9/18 volts), as well as the tone shaping possibilities offered by the filter, allow for even more sonic palettes. As always catalibread delivers
