Duesenberg Starplayer TV Deep Black LH

Been in love with the STARPLAYER for a long time and always liked the look of the black unit which is lucky as that’s the only colour available as a left handed version. The only thing I would have changed was the colour of the pickguard. Thomann contacted me to tell me that the old TV had been discontinued and replaced with a new version. How pleased I was to see that amongst many small changes the pick guard was now black. My mind was made up and the order placed. I received very good service from the team at Thomann in particular Freddy, most professional. The guitar arrived ahead of the build date by two weeks and is truly a magnificent thing. Not sure whether to play it or frame it and hang it on the wall. The days of styling outstanding looking cars have filtered through into their guitar design and the look is sublime. Construction up there with the best of the best and the attention to detail superb. All components made in their own factory and the best tremolo set up I’ve seen. Even the case is the best around.
The TV Deep Black plays beautifully with a small profile kneck, great tuners that hold regardless of tremolo use, chunky well finished frets and a great rosewood fretboard. The Plek set up is brilliant and plays perfectly right out of the box.
Variety of sounds available is quite remarkable through the two pickups. The P90 type does what you would expect and the Vintage style humbucker widens the scope of sounds beyond what a single guitar would normally produce. Over fifty years of playing I have amassed a total of six guitars, all of which have been carefully considered and chosen. The STARPLAYER out performs all of them and has become my go to choice for home practice and performance.
Can’t recommend it highly enough and I would never normally give five stars to a guitar but this one is deserving at all levels.
