Very easy to install!
I installed these pickups into my Charvel 650Xl and the installation worked excellent and was very easy to do! The only negative thing about this set is that the wires which goes from the pickups are different in length, so I have to order one new, longer wire to be able to use to middle pickup, because the one I got was too short.
But except from that, this EMG Set is really worth buying if you own a HSS guitar.
The EMG 81 in the bridge gives you a really aggressive tone, perfect for all kinds of metal genres. And the SA pickups produces a warm and smooth tone, great for soloing.
And the clean sound on both the 81 and SA's are amazing.
As a metalhead myself i love these pickups! They really rock!

Nice set.
Well, you can't go wrong with 81. Single coils sound smooth and nice. Only thing I have to complain is bit too short wires for my Jackson dinky. Anyhow, I really enjoyed the solderless installation, it's brilliant!

Very good sound quality and product but found the cables from the pickups to the selector switch were to short for a solid body guitar.

Great sounding combination.
Not much to say here. Just follow the provided instructions and you will get a set of great sounding pickups :)
I was worried, that switching to the SA pickups from 81 will have a noticeable volume drop. Or that they would not have enough output for a nice distorted tone. Well, I was pleasantly surprised.
Compared to passive pickups, EMGs have much less white noise. Which is great and allowed me to not use the noise gate at all.
I can recommend this set for anyone wanting to play metal on a H-S-S guitar without compromising the beautiful clean tone.

EMG Set Sa/Sa/81
quality set of active pickups! i installed mine into a deluxe strat and fitted a PI2 phase inverter. I love the versatiliy of this configuration as you can go from spank to shred and everything inbetween all at the flick of your 5 way!

Jimi Hendrix goes goes viral
So, I put these in an old and pink Westone Pantera Pro. It used to have an EMG 85 and some cheap single coils in place but I felt that the sound was too old. The EMG81 comes off as the EMG81 does: razor sharp, tight, even and so on. The SA's sounds like they were modelled after the sound of Hendrix, truly awesome. Being able to switch between these two sounds quickly comes in handy from time to time. Noise? Zero. But you knew that :)
