Strong for overhead
I use it to hang a microphone from above the head of the drummer (from a standard K&M 209 stand with the boom arm above the drummer, horizontal position).
It has no problem in holding a Shure SM58 microphone, and the entire setup can be easily knocked to the side when no singing is needed.
Helps to keep the things out of the drummers way.
