JBL 306P MKII

I replaced a pair of Eris 4.5 in my small home studio for these, and the difference in detail and imaging is almost uncanny. Bass feels tight and controlled, starts to fall off hard around 50 hz, but perfectly usable to mix most genres. Vocals are absolutely beautiful on these. The overall sound feels quite dense, like there's just the smallest bit of saturation engaged at all times. Might not be the perfect clear sound some people are after, but it gives music a very pleasant character, while still being clear. I thought that the shiny black baffle was a bit tacky, but once I put them to their place, it doesn't bother me at all. Unlike most monitors with annoying blue leds, the small white lines on these are tasteful and not distracting, they dim when in standby. There is some hiss up close, at 1m it's very quiet.
