Fantastic sound range for flatwounds and excellent quality, surprisingly bright if you want and great booming lows. Love them, perfect on my Mustang AM Perf strung through body.

Great sounding strings
Great deep and mellow sounding strings and perfect for the American Performer Mustang if you're after that vintage thumping bass sound. The strings are unbelievably smooth and they feel quite stiff. Makes you want to dig in a little and make them growl. Good product, recommended!

Perfect for a Squier CV Mustang
A perfect match for my Squier CV Mustang: no more floppy stock E string! The strings are glass smooth, so great for effortless and painless sliding. They do take a couple of months to settle in and sound quite odd at first. Overall, very nice strings with price being the only drawback. Hopefully, they'll last a few years.

Really feels good
It was my first experience with flat string. I wanted to put flats on my squier paranormal rascal bass. String tension is more right now but feels so good and I guess sounds even better. Silky feeling just making you want to play more!

They grew on me
My first flats and at first I was somewhat disappointed. E string was duller than the rest and I thougt they felt sticky. After a while they balanced out and feel smooth (now I think they feel much nicer than roundwounds). Expect not a hint of modern "zing" sound from them though. You can get low action with these as well. In conclusion they are staying on for a while!

Perfect for my 1972 Mustang!
I have used La Bellas on many of my basses and when I was made aware of these strings that are especially designed for string through the body Mustangs, it was an obvious choice!
Unlike other La Bellas I have used, they were consistent in sound from the moment I fitted them. You get that lovely deep thump, making it sound almost like a Precision. Added to that, you of course get no fingers noise!

I love these. In comparison to other flats they bring the thump but bring it with clarity. If I had more basses, I’d buy more of these.

Not for Mustang Bass
After putting the strings on my 1973 Mustang bass (“thru-body”), I realized that correct intonation of the E and A strings is completely impossible. The double wound area at the ball end is too long and extends beyond the bridge.
This makes it really impossible to set correct intonation. I have never had such problems with other strings before.
In summary, I can say that these are the most expensive and at the same time worst bass strings I have ever bought.
