I've replaced Ddrum Pro triggers to use on my hybrid kit, 20-10-12-14 + 14 snare, all snare and toms with Drum-tec 3 ply real feel mesh heads, my kick has a 2 ply Millenium one (with full foam muffling from the inside) feeding into a Roland Td12.
- The kick is mono and therefore simple, it works well for triggering, the only problem here is the attachment on the bass drum as it's not quite aligning with my hoops somehow. I put some rubber in between to make it more stable and haven't touched it since.
- The toms are great, i am using only the mono side of it (as in the center not the rim). The triggers don't fit so well on the rims because of the rubber rim noise eliminator, but trying a bit harder and it does fit though somehow.
- The snare is where i remove 1*. My snare has hoops that go inwards, and with the rubber noise eliminator it simply doesn't fit, i tried everything. Given a lot of people are using at home for silent practice the rim eliminator are a must have. Once the rubber rim eliminator removed, it works fine, both the center and rim trigger, needed a fair amount of adjustments to balance them out, overall i haven't found yet the perfect setting to get the snare to "feel" right, but will continue trying (with mesh head tension probably), currently even with different curves it jumps from 30-40 to 70-80 and not much in between.
Overall for the price it's great, if the focus is kick and toms, i would say 100% go for it. If you want a delicate snare trigger it's a side external trigger, i have an internal one which works better for me, but i don't think this one is bad.
They are made of metal and seem very robust.
