More comfort and looks good
Purchased the shoulder pad because my sousaphone was lacking grip and sliding off my shoulder. The pad adds a lot of grip. It also makes the weight more bearable.
One minus: the pad is best suited for big sousaphones, so it does not have a very snuggly fit at one of the straps, as it can't be strapped any tighter.

Looks good and provides some padding
Looks good, matching the cradle pad. Provides some padding, but could do with more on the shoulder!
