Excellent microphone for vocals. I found it works well on a variety of voices, from soprano to bass, without altering the timbre of the voice. The polar patterns work very well, particularly the hypercardioid which came in very useful in my untreated bedroom studio. The build quality is typical Neumann.

Well built mic, nice set of options. However, it didn't match my Neumann's sonic expectations (I own many of their top dollar models). I'd skip on this one, and go directly to the 'classics', being the U87, or even better, the TLM170.
