Extremely useful
When using an insert as a direct out from a mixer, or splitting an insert to the input and output of a compressor, this little board does the business.
It is designed for tip send ring return. If the red connector is not used then the tip is connected to the external device and also to the ring (the return).
The split side uses TS sockets and needs TS (not TRS) patch cables.
Very high quality - I've never seen a bad connection with Neutrik/Rean patch bays.
What would be even more wonderful would be:
- a version for Ring send Tip return
- to be able to use TRS cables after the split; i.e. TRS sockets with R and S joined.
- a daisy chain feature to have more than one outboard chained in series; making use of the current blank socket.

Simple solution for bringing insert points to patch bay
I use these in the corresponding NYS patchbays to bring in insert send/ returns from TRS sockets and have them as TS send/returns on the front panel. Great space saving solution, no need to make Y leads or other such faffing about. A lttle bit fiddly to fit but no real drama. It took a couple of minutes to do half a dozen of them. A bonus point is that the standard channel cards they replace can be kept as spares.
I'd buy again should the need arise.

I love these, got these to patch my inserts from my mixing desk with just one TRS cable, saves you a lot of money on insert splitting cables.

Very Handy
I'm using these modules in a radio studio, where all mic's are connected on the insert busses from my A&H mixer. From there they are feeding trough a multi cable these modules. They split the signals in a send/ return, only one thing you have to do, patch these to your gear and you're good. No additional insert cables. Great modules for the NYS patchbays. And cheap.

Handy
Great for splitting a stereo cable to 2x mono, or summing 2x mono to one stereo. Also useful as a send/return for a mixer. I will buy two more!
