Couldn't resist to try it out instead of going for the standard (DW9000). I'm used to play DW5000 accelerator model. This feels rather different but good different. Before making a decision whether to get one or not I first read a number of reviews. Many of them go back to first product release in 2012 and address issues mainly with the heel hinge. Sonor seem to be able to improve their products overtime as I didn't find any issue with this product at all. 5 stars for quality. Product came well packaged and was easy to set up. I started with default settings. Couple days later I was tempted to do small tweaks. Again all easy to set up. Pedal itself seems very sturdy despite the fact it is a single post construction. I personally like that extra space instead of second post. Pedal in action is very silent and feels very light. The light feel is also down to a beater used - e.g. when compared the pedal using original beater and DW beater, action with DW beater felt a lot heavier. No changes were made to settings like beater angle,spring tension or foot board angle. For those who are interested whether this pedal works with bass drums on risers (like Jungle kits) - yes it does, and actually better than DW5000 - personal opinion and experience. It also does work on a thin carpet but I think it works better on a firm surface. Overall I like this pedal enough for it to be my favorite go to option.

Sonor JoJo Mayer Single Pedal is a piece of drum hardware that seems genuinely different from the very beginning. Designed around balance and low mass, it gives a smooth, reactive and light playing experience.

Approaching simplicity and responsiveness, the pedal offers a different view on the drum gear, being ergonomic and handy both in playing and transportation cases.

The fibreglass strap and low-mass drive system give it a fluid action and works efficiently with fast singles, doubles and heel-toe techniques, while providing subtle natural dynamics during the playing.

The footboard is giving plenty of space to experiment with foot positioning. The strap-drive design produces very little mechanical noise, making it suitable for studio work, as well as players who value a clean, unobtrusive feel.

A great feature of the pedal is the folding mechanism. It can be packed quickly for transport, including a dedicated pedal bag. For gigging drummers or anyone who travels frequently, this is a big advantage rather than just a gimmick.

«Perfect Balance» is a well-engineered, responsive pedal, being an excellent choice for those who prioritize speed, finesse, control and is worth a try in case of recording players, traveling drummers and anyone interested in developing efficient bass-drum techniques

Great pedal

This is a truly well made pedal.
It does take a little getting used to, due to the
features it has, low footplate, balance etc.
Once you are used to it, you find that you definitely
need less 'effort' to achieve exactly the same as you
did with (as in my case) a DW pedal.
