WoodWindDesign Bass Trombone Stand

I've not trusted trombone stands since a long ago fall, but have been considering one for practical reasons. I saw these WoodWindDesign stands advertised on Facebook and was very surprised by the stability shown in the video. I balked a little at the cost, but am glad I bought one.

The first impression was that the weight of the stand is unbelievable - so light for a bass trombone stand! The design is quirky but clever, with asymmetric legs stored inside the body of the stand but which give it a pronounced lean, meaning the centre of gravity of the instrument is directly over the centre of the stand instead of off to one side like with a normal stand. The friction lock provided by the rubber rings is plenty strong enough, and very easy to put back together if (like me!) you get a bit over enthusiastic and pull the thing apart! It fits handily inside the bell of the trombone in the case, although for my instrument it needs a bit of adjustment from "use" position to do this, so I just keep it in my mute bag.

Overall, incredibly stable, super lightweight and convenient, and an excellent purchase.
