DW 14"x6,5" Design Workhorse SD

Decided to write a review for this snare as none of the current reviews do any justince.

First of all - the packaging. I have ordered tom drum heads together woth the snare, so Thomann decided to use a huge box. For reference - it could not fit into the boot of a Nissan Leaf. It barely fit through the back passenger door! The snare must have been flying all over the place in transit.
The packaging for DW was amazing - snare was padded and secured inside the box.

The snare itself looks amazing. Hardware is outstanding - extremely easy to tune with the DW's rods. The MAG throwoff is amazingly smooth. Hoops are at least 2.3mm, although I would guess its 2.5mm. The drum head is a DW branded Remo Controlled Sound, not a chinese made - suits the snare really well. The sound is also excellent, although it really depends on how you tune it - I like it really high, so it has that crack I always wanted. The snare I used before was a PDP X7 14x5 maple snare, so the upgrade was really noticeable.

Would recommend for anyone who is looking for a brass snare - the price is brilliant and the quality of the hardware will not dissapoint. If blind guessed I would have thought this is a 500-600 euro snare.

Ich muß gestehen, dass ich eine Schwäche für Snaredrums mit Messing und Bronze Kessel habe, aber diese Snare ist echt der Hammer! Die Verarbeitung ist einfach, trotz "made in China" unglaublich hochwertig, die verchromung und die Kesseloberfläche ist einfach Makellos!!!
Der Sound ist druckvoll, crispy, fett und laut!
Ich wünschte es gebe noch eine mit Bronze Kessel und die würde ich auch noch kaufen!!!
Dieses Instrument ist jeder Cent Wert!
