Shure GLXD1+

I bought this Shure GLXD1+ transmitter because I already have the Shure GLXD16+ wireless system, and I wanted an identical transmitter pack as a backup unit.

The GLXD16+ is a complete wireless guitar system, and includes a GLXD1+ transmitter, like this one, together with the GLXD6+ receiver pedal.

So I am already familiar with just how good this transmitter is, when linked up to the GLXD6+ receiver pedal.

I’ve tried other wireless systems, but settled on the Shure GLXD1+ / GLXD6+, for its quality and reliability.

Latency is very low, I don’t know the figure in milliseconds, but when I’m playing I don’t notice any latency at all. There will be a slight delay, that’s inevitable with any digital device, but it’s so fast it doesn’t matter, at least not in my experience.

I am also mostly using this into a Kemper, which will also be adding its own latency, so the number of milliseconds must be very low to be using both digital devices together and yet not notice any lag.

I’ve also been super impressed with the signal to noise ratio of 120 dBs. It’s as quiet as a cable, well to human ears anyway, which is what matters. That’s unlike some other wireless systems which produce a background hiss that can be very noticeable when using a distorted high gain tone.

I’ve found that having two identical GLXD1+ transmitters works just fine with a single GLXD6+ receiver. To be clear, you can only use one transmitter at a time with the receiver pedal, but once you’ve separately linked each transmitter to your GLXD6+ receiver, which one works is simply determined by which one you switch on first. If you want to change to the back up transmitter, all you have to do is switch the first transmitter off and the second transmitter on, in about a second the receiver will link with whichever transmitter is powered on. And it doesn’t interrupt the currently linked and powered on transmitter signal if you switch on the second GLXD1+ while the first GLXD1+ is already on. It just means that the second GLXD1+ transmitter will not be able to connect, unless or until you switch off the first one.

This GLXD1+ transmitter is supplied with a Shure SB904 rechargeable battery, but I bought a separate SB904 as well, to have a third battery as a backup.

Wir sind super zufrieden mit dem Produkt und waren echt froh dass wir die Dinger wieder im Katalog entdeckt haben, nachdem sie im letzten Jahr nicht lieferbar waren, um noch ein paar weitere Sender für unsere Gitarren zu kaufen. Nachdem wir die Ware erhalten hatten, haben wir dann leider feststellen müssen, dass es nicht möglich ist, die Sender mit den vorhandenen Empfängern zu verbinden!!!!! Ja, dann haben wir auch im Katalog den Hinweis gesehen:
Nur kompatibel mit der GLXD1+ Serie....
...dass dieses + bedeutet, dass sie eben nicht mit der GLXD Serie ohne + kompatibel sind.
