rich, deep tone and then some

i didn't really fully know what to expect from a 14"x8" full birch snare drum. sure, i'd watched a few reviews, but to hear it in my own studio environment was something else. the thing just booooms (in the best sense). depends on how high you tune it and much damping you apply, the range of tone on this thing is broad.

the snare system is easy to use and the build quality in general is top notch. and it's gorgeous, as a nice bonus :)

i haven't mic'd and recorded with it yet, so can't comment on that aspect, but i don't see why it shouldn't record well

Great sounding snare if you need a classic rock and overall big bodied sounding snare. It's got some overtones around 400hz, which is what you are going to scoop anyways in the mix. Super fun to play, I am enjoying it.

Der Snare Sound ist satt und genau das was ich gesucht habe.
Allerdings hielt die Freude nicht lange, irgendetwas "stimmte" nicht mit der Snare.
Nach nicht enden wollenden, immerwährendem Nachstimmen, stellte sich heraus, der Spannreifen weist eine sehr starke Ovalität auf und ist uneben.
Die Qualität der Spannreifen und verbogenen Stimmschrauben verschlechtert das Potential, das die Snare haben könnte immens.
Ich hätte mir eine bessere Qualität erwartet.
Eine empfehlenswerte Aufrüstung auf Die Cast Spannreifen (Tama MDH14-10 14" Die Cast Hoop 10) entfaltete dann das wahre Potential der Snare.

Großen Dank gilt allerdings dem Support von Thomann für eine frustfreie Reklamationsabwicklung!

Wer auf der Suche nach einer neuen Snare ist, der muss diese testen, Ich setze sie im Studio ein und nehme sie dabei von oben und von unten auf. Kein EQ, kein Kompressor, nur pure Snare; Hammer.
