Presonus Eris 3.5 2nd Gen

I've being doing all sorts of electronic music since early 2000's, mostly using headphones and I have known for long that I need a set of near-field monitors. My studio is a half of my living room and these fit neatly on top of the setup on the Ikea Lack TV-stand, right on the ear level but should probably be set a wee bit wider.
I play dawless electro just for the fun so spending big bucks for something like Genelecs was out of the question. Besides now that I've been using these for over 5 months I can tell that I don't hear the difference between these monitors and 4 to 8 times more expensive ones that I've have had opporturnity to try few times in the past. I'm a musician, not a producer or mixing engineer.

When purchasing these I was worried that the bass response is enough for such small elements but I ended up tweaking the bass down -2dB from the back for my liking. Otherwise I'm satisfied on sound and gave a 5/5 on that. For the features I gave 4/5; there's not many features to begin with but the auto-standby works as excpected and is a must with AB power amp. There is a Bluetooth version of these but didn't consider them at all since I don't use anything with Bluetooth and my mixer/audio interface already has BT if I change my mind. The foam feet that came with the box are adequate, I guess that for high volume use one would probably need more insulation from vibration.
Only thing I don't like is the blue LED power indicator, but I hate all the blue LED's.

One thing I especially like about these is that the output is loudest at the optimal listening position, in the near-field as it should be, and quickly gets a lot quieter in distance. Some other monitors with 5" woofers fill a small space like mine the way like regular Hi-Fi speakers do. This means thou that you can really listen music well only at this optimal spot. In my opinion that is still a feature and not a flaw.

If I'd lose these or they would break because of my misuse I would probably buy the same pair again. 4/5 overall (side note: in my scoring anything above 3/5 is a keeper and 5/5 is for things I'd die for).
